After 20 years as a band and 100,000 CDs sold, Lebanon Valley College’s Miller Chapel brings in an independent rock sensation.
The Violet Burning may be the biggest band you have never heard of. However, after over twenty years as a band and 100,000 CD units sold and several world tours; the band is scheduled to perform at Lebanon Valley College’s Miller Chapel on October 23, 2011. The Concert will take place at 7:00pm. A student band will be the opening act. LVC Students will be admitted free with their College ID. Tickets for non-students are $10 in advance, $12 at the door.
The Violet Burning has been making music under the direction of creative frontman, Michael Pritzl, since 1990. A prolific songwriter, his story is one of a endurance that is manifested in a plethora of albums and relentless touring throughout the US and Europe.
After years of touring Europe, they have announced a rare American tour, on the heels of their latest 3-Compact Disc release, The Story of Our Lives. The album’s 34 songs are divided into three parts: Liebe über Alles, Black as Death, and The Fantastic Machine. This is not just another album by another band. This tour and CD release have garnered some of the biggest attention and reviews The Violet Burning has experienced yet.
Pritzl is also known for his contribution to worship music over the years, is the author of several well known Modern Worship Songs through the Vineyard Music Group (Throne of Grace, Hear Our Cry, Invitation Fountain, Father of Lights, etc).
However, the influence of The Violet Burning is one that has appealed to everyone, everywhere. Their music and influence have outlasted many musical trends and fads. They have received radio chart topping singles in College Radio, Christian Music and Indie Music Radio Stations everywhere.
They are, without doubt, establishing themselves as some of the hardest working musicians out there. The Violets have played many concerts over the years in the Central Pennsylvania area, always bringing live, energizing and life-changing concerts. Can something so cool be both worship and rock?
