2018: A few speaking opportunities I am really excited about.

2018: A few speaking opportunities I am really excited about.

On most Sundays, you will find me teaching and preaching at East Petersburg Mennonite Church. However, on occasion, I also get the invitation and opportunity to speak to other contexts. I love having conversation with other church communities, pastors, and church leaders. These opportunities give me a chance to not only share what I’ve learned, experienced and had God put on my heart – but it also gives me the chance to connect, network, and learn from other churches, pastors, and leaders.

There are a few upcoming invitations and opportunities that I am especially excited about in 2018. You can find a full list of my upcoming speaking opportunities and events on the Speaking and Events tab. However, I want to invite you to these special moments below.

February 23, 2018: Neighborhood Seminar hosted by The Shalom Project. Seminar on partnering with a missionally incarnate God in our neighborhood and spheres of influence.

March 3, 2018: Stewardship University 2018 hosted by Everence. Workshop on Missional living from a Kingdom perspective, 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Jesus instructed his followers to seek first the Kingdom of God, as he released them to live as powerful missional difference makers in their communities, neighborhoods, and spheres of influence. He gave them meaning for their purpose, purpose in their place, and purpose in their presence. We will converse on what it means to live missionally from a Kingdom perspective.

March 23-24, 2018: Celebration of Church Life Conference hosted by Lancaster Mennonite Conference. Two Workshops. (1) Social Media 101: Learning to tell our story by improving our front porch. Social Media and the web presence of a church has been referred to as the new ‘front porch.’ Often these places are where individuals first look today to learn more. Sadly, most of us have a minimal and inadequate presence in these areas. Learn how a quality web presence is both essential and easier than we realize, and how it can help our mission as we also rebuild, repair, and revive our church communities.  (2) Vision 101: Simple tools for creating a Contagious culture and future. When we talk about rebuilding, repairing, and reviving our churches; we are really talking about envisioning and implementing a new culture, and future. Churches experiencing working through the three R’s, as well as church planters and churches in transition, need to work at creating a simple but creative and contagious vision statement to lay the foundations for a new culture and future.

April 13, 2018: Movement is Multiplication not Maintaining at Sanctuary Vineyard Church. The most important thing in church life is how we are reproducing ourselves as a movement, not how we are maintaining numerical or institutional growth.

I hope I will see you at one of these upcoming events. I think each one of them has a pretty special opportunity around them. There is a much deeper conversation happening at each one of these moments.
